מוטה גור --> מגע אישי --.>שגרירות בריטניה 20 July 1995 Mrs. Mordechai Gur Sarah and I were so sad to hear of the tragic death of Motta on Sunday. We send our deepest condolences to you, your sons and your daughters. To say that Motta was a great man seems to be an understatement. Most men only gain fame in one profession. Motta did it in three - as a soldier, author and politician. His loss will be felt not only by you but by the People of the State of Israel as a whole and by his many friends and admirers around the world. I well remember the admiration with which the whole world viewed the Israel Defence Forces when operation Hercules was reported, the sheer audacity of the plan took our breath away. On a more personal level. I shall always be greatful for his friendliness and help during my assignment here. Sarah and I well remember Motta’s kindness during Malcolm Rifkind’s visit to Israel last November, it is even more memorable now that we realise that he was not a well man. His name was synonymous with courage before the world knew of his latest illness and will continue to be so after his death.
